Railway Recruitment Scam: CBI claims rly recruitment fraud in Nagpur

CBI has arrested Vijay Patel, a technician with Central Railway (CR), and Archana Mehta, a railway employee, for fraud in filling grade IV posts. It is on the lookout for Birendra Singh Ramkumar Khairwar, director of Ganesh HRD Agency, and other railway officials.

Searches were conducted at four places Wednesday following complaints by Raghuveer Singh Nirwan and Vishal Waghmare, who alleged the accused took Rs 29 lakh from them promising jobs in CR.

On completion of a medical examination in Mumbai, the candidates were allegedly given fake appointment letters. When they enquired with CR, they were told it did not advertise the posts.

Incriminating documents, including fake recruitment letters, a list of candidates, appointment letters and letterheads of various departments were seized during the searches. Investigations have revealed more than 70 people were on their list. CBI said the involvement of higher-ups can't be ruled out. "We are checking that," CBI SP Sandip Tamgadge said.

CBI says complaints may be forwarded to SP, CBI, ACB, CGO Complex, Block 'C', 3rd floor, Seminary Hills, Nagpur-440006 or e-mailed to hobacnpr@cbi.gov.in, spacnpr @cbi.gov.in and stamagadge @gmail.com.
